F.A.Q (frequently asked questions):
What
is Sensory Street Kids?
Sensory Street Kids is a series of super fun early childhood group classes
that build speech and social skills through music, movement and sensory
play.
Who designs your classes?
We have an advisory board that consists of a Speech Language Pathologist,
an Occupational Therapist, a Special Educator, a children's Librarian,
an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, a Movement Therapist and a Music
Therapist. Together we collaborate to build a well rounded, multi-disciplinary
curriculum.
Who teaches your classes?
The majority of our classes are taught by licensed professionals. Many
are Speech Therapists, Music Therapists or Early Childhood Educators.
Occasionally we will train a very well qualified non-professional to teach.
Instructors are all screened and background checks are performed.
Do SSK classes replace my child's therapy or special
ed. services?
SSK is not designed to replace individual therapy. We are an enrichment
program for families who would like to enhance their existing programs
or for those who do not qualify for services.
I
don't consider my child to have special needs, but she is a late-talker.
Is this program right for us?
Absolutely. Our classes are very well rounded and designed to accomodate
a wide range of developmental stages. The La La Language class is appropriate
for all infants and toddlers as it builds early language skills and incorporates
sign language. We often have siblings joining us who have no delays whatsoever,
and they have just as much fun, and learn a few things along the way.
I own a daycare and think La la Language would
be great for our toddler room. Do you offer onsite visits?
We do offer high quality programming for daycares, libraries, and preschools.
Classes can be taught weekly, monthly or on an individual basis. Contact
us and we will connect you with a certified instructor in your area.
We are a non-profit organization. Can we get
a grant to cover the cost of your program?
In many cases, yes. We can provide you with all the information necessary.
Please contact us and we will connect you with a local certified instructor.

Instructor?
